After you have added your retailer and any outlets then the adding sales should be quick and easy.

Once you have logged into That Sale as a member you can select Add Retailer from the Retailer drop down box at the top of the page or come back here to look at the next step.

Add/Select Retailer

You do not need to have a sale on to add a retailer, we encourage the addition of all local retailers* to That Sale.

Do not forget to click the "Publish" button when you are ready for others to see your retailer entry.

If there is already an entry for the retailer you want to add a sale or outlet to then select that retailer from the retailer list and refer to the "Add Sale" or "Add Outlet" tabs on this page for further details.

Once you have entered the basic retailer details you will need to select at least one category that the retailer fits into, we encourage you to be as accurate as possible when doing this. See our Content Creation guide for more details.

If you have added a retailer but cannot locate it then try the following:

  • Select Unpublished Retailers from the Retailers drop down at the top of every page (This option appears when you have logged in).
  • Select Your Live Retailers from the Retailers drop down at the top of every page (This option appears when you have logged in).
  • Turn off the "Certified" filter by clicking on the "Certified" button that on the retailer list page so you can see content that we have not yet had a chance to review or Click Here.

*Retailers should sell something that can be taken away and not only be offering food for consumption on the premesis or as take-away. We do not promote services.

Outlets represent the location that you sell from and are optional. We are keen to work with local online traders as well as those that sell instore.

Benefits of Using That Sale

This is aimed at local online and instore retailers, if you are a different kind of user and want to understand what That Sale can do for you then take a look at our About section

That Sale has been built and designed with local and high street retailers at the core of what we offer shoppers and for this reason we offer a unique combination of features specifically aimed at allowing you to promote your retailer, sale or outlets as easily as possible.

That Sale is a sale, retailer, outlet and review listing website, we want to help shoppers find the best place for them to spend instore or online as quickly and easily as possible. We are not a shop front, we do not offer a shopping cart or resell deals. We take no money from any shopper.

Features Include:

Free Instore and Online Sale Listings

That Sale is the only sale tracking, business listing or review website to offer sale listings free of charge with no conditions attached for both instore and online sales. We would love it if you added a link from your website to your entry on That Sale telling your potential customers where to go to see all your sales and where they can get notifications on sales you have in the future but we do not require it. We would also love a Facebook like and a Twitter follow, anything to increase the audience for your sales.

"Keep It Local"

That Sale is the only sale tracking website in the UK that enables users to enter their postcode and see all (our) stores and outlets local to that postcode that are currently holding an instore sale. We also go further by including the post code search as part of our "If you shop locally, you should save locally" slogan and making it the most prominent filter on our site.

Business Listing and Reviews

We are the only sale tracking website to offer business listings (or the only business listing website to promote sales for free) we know that not everyone has a sale on all the time and that you still sell great stuff at fantastic prices, shoppers know that too and with That Sale we answer the question "Who around me sells that?".

Other sale tracking websites do offer merchant reviews, but none in combination with a business listing. A number of business listing websites offer reviews but not in combination with promoting sales for free. We offer reviews so that your customers can let our visitors know when they have had a great local experience and so that you can encourage your customers to let everyone know how much they enjoyed shopping with you.

Detailed and Flexible Categorisation

We offer more categories than any other sale tracking, business listing or review website and because we have built our platform to be flexible and not locked into any third party system we can add any categories that you can show us we have missed, making it that much easier for the right shopper to find you and what you sell.

Targeted Notifications

We promote every sale that meets our criteria to our members who have opted to receive notifications. Our Members are able to select not only which of the over thee hundred categories they are interested in receiving notifications about but also what postcodes they would like to receive instore offers for. This provides you with a way of ensuring that the people who are actively interested in your sales receive notifications whenever you have a new sale on.

A Few of the Rules

We need to ensure that shoppers have a great experience on the site and keeps on coming back for more so we have put in place a few rules to help ensure this. These rules are there to make That Sale successful allowing as many shoppers as possible to find what they want to buy quickly and easily. If you think we have it wrong let us know as we are always happy to listen and change things if we feel it will make the site better.

Retailers
  • We list retailers who are selling something that can be purchased and taken off the premises (excluding convenience food), we will not promote services.
  • You must have some other form of online presence that we can point to, this can be a website, blog, Facebook page, Twitter account or a business listing (with a dedicated page) elsewhere.
  • When you are happy with your entry you need to push the "Publish" button, we will then review the entry and if it is all in order certify the entry so it appears in the default lists.
  • If someone else has created an entry for your store you can go to the "Other" tab on your store's That Sale entry and claim ownership (further details are provided in the "Other" tab).
  • You can promote your or any retailers entry on your website by clicking on the "Promote" button of the retailers entry on That Sale and following the instructions there (We are happy to assist with this should you have any problems).
  • If there is a problem we will try to work with you to resolve it rather than just rejecting an entry.
Outlet

That Sale caters for both online and instore retailers. If you have one or more physical outlets then you will need to add an outlet entry for each address that you have a store at.

  • When you are happy with your outlet entry you need to push the "Publish" button, we will then review the entry and if it is all in order certify the entry so it appears in the default lists.
  • If there is a problem we will try to work with you to resolve it rather than just rejecting an entry.
Sales and Promotions

We are keen to promote any genuine saving to our shoppers, and not those limited to one or two specific items. For that reason we have the following rules

  • You can offer any type of sale that you like (discount, all under, multi-buy, free delivery.. etc) but it must be a genuine sale. We do not certify "free gift" type promotions.
  • You can run as many sales as you want and they can run concurrently.
  • The sale or promotion must offer the items at less than you have sold them for before or less than an established RRP from the supplier or manufacturer. You should indicate what that saving is (at least £10, 10% off, etc).
  • A sale can cover multiple categories but must have at least 10 different items (not different models or colours) in the sale from the same category.
  • Items in a sale can change over time (new added and old removed) however if a sale lasts more than a month and the items in it have increased or stayed the same (or we do not know how many items are in the sale) then it will be classed as a clearance outlet.
  • You are welcome to create and offer voucher codes or coupons (coupons will need to be hosted on an external site).
  • Sales cannot be set to last more than three months from the current date but you can extend them at a later date.
  • A sale can span multiple categories but must offer a genuine saving to shoppers and needs to cover more than 10 items in at least one category. See our Content Creation Guide for additional details.
  • Sales need to be "published" by you when you are happy with the entry, we will then check them and if they meet our criteria "certify" them so they appear in the default lists.
  • If there is a problem we will try to work with you to resolve it rather than just rejecting a sale.

What does That Sale get out of it

At That Sale we have seen a problem and an opportunity, shoppers today cannot go anywhere to get a detailed view of all the online and instore bargains available to them. Local and high street retailers struggle to promote their sales and discounts to shoppers as easily as online shops do, even to shoppers who might walk near or past their store everyday.

We solve both these problems by creating a virtuous circle that gets better the more shoppers and retailers are involved. The more retailers we have adding sales, the more shoppers will find us and use us. The more shoppers we have the more retailers will benefit from using us.

By offering what we do to retailers we allow ourselves to have the largest possible collection of unique sales, making us the most attractive bargain hunting destination possible and driving traffic to our site and your sales. Every link from a retailer's website, like on Facebook or follow on Twitter makes the circle stronger and the value of using the site higher.

We make our money from our affiliated retailers (for whom we add sales to the site) and from advertising.

We hope that you see the value in That Sale to you as a business and let us start promoting you and your sales today.
